Road work inaugurated!!!!

Today the Corporator and the members of Pune Municipal Corporation conducted a ceremony to mark the beginning of the long awaited road building project.

It is 'expected' to be finished before the rains.

The engineer from the company who has bagged the contract sounded cagey though!.

Road to Emerald City Baner - The road which is not there still!!

We took possession of our flats from the builder in July 2007. We have been living in fond hope every summer that the road will be made before this monsoon. The summer of 2010 is approaching and again our hearts are filled with hope.

We are told by powers that be, that a sum of over Rs. 1 Crore has been sanctioned for the purpose of completing the road till the Pune-Bangalore Highway.

Is it possible to give some push with the help of petitions through media, press, to PMC or other authorities?

Below is the photo album depicting the pathetic condition of the road. If it is not built this year, we will have tough time during the rains as there has been lot of construction in the area and danger of water getting blocked around and on the road has increased.
Please use your contacts to spread the word and create awareness. Please share the links with people from other housing complexes who would be benefited if the road is built - Tivoli, Beverly Hills, Serene, Gera Regent Park, Rohan Seher etc.
You might highlight the following points:
  • Our health is jeopardized as the bad road causes spinal injury and the dust causes allergy.
  • Our vehicles are damaged
  • Our visitors find it inconvenient to reach us.
  • School buses and auto-rickshaws refuse to come to our housing complex.
  • No shops have come up
  • Telecom companies have not laid cables to provide us reliable fast internet connection.

We do not know if Gera Development folks are interested in lending a helping hand to get this done. As far as their interests are concerned, they have sold 100% of the flats in the scheme and have got testimonials from the owners. http://www.gera.in/testimonials.html. It is immaterial to them that the flats were sold to most of us on the promise of a DP Road connecting the Baner Main Road near Ganaraj Mangal Karyalaya.

Obviously, this road is not on anybody's radar now. Even the location map provided on Gera Website for Regent Park does not make a mention of this connection. http://regentpark.gera.in/location.html

But the hope is there! May be by 2020 we would have our road!

Public forum to air our views about our experience of dealing with Gera Development

This blog is a public forum created for the residents of Gera's Emerald City Baner, Pune, Maharashtra, India.

There are 120 owners of the flats in this facility who got ensnared by slick marketing of Gera Developments into investing their life time earnings, taking hefty loans, in real estate property, for most for own use. And now it is turning into a nightmarish experience.

It has been close to two years for some of us who have moved into the flats and are still facing problems which are normally expected during early weeks as the teething problems are discovered.

The apathy and indifference demonstrated by the builder and his staff needs to be put in public so that others do not fall into their trap.

A small example is given in the "Environment Responsibility Statement" given in their website for their new scheme - Gera's Regent Park http://www.gera.in/projects/Regent_park/Regent_park.html.

Similar statement was shown to us also when were the prospects. As you would all know that there is no Rain Water Harvesting facility at Gera's Emerald City, Baner. This amounts to false promise, a fraud and can be taken up in consumer court.
